Our mission is to present the life of Jesus in a clear, easy-to-read style that is web friendly. We hope to create a reliable guide that uses the four gospels as its primary source.
The purpose of the site is not to highlight differences between religious views. There are enough divisions in the religious world. We hope that LifeofChrist.com can be used as a resource by believers from a variety of denominational backgrounds.
We hope you find LifeofChrist.com useful. This site is used as a resource by believers from a variety of denominational backgrounds. Emails received from visitors are a testament to this goal. Numerous positive emails have been sent from church leaders and people from many backgrounds. Requests to use the material in Bible schools, colleges, high schools, and other settings are received on a regular basis from teachers who find this site useful.
The general pattern of the site's articles is to first present the facts as given in the gospels, and then to provide clarifying comments where needed. These comments are given with the understanding that they are no substitute for the Word of God. The Bible is its own best commentary.
As to the scholarship, the author employs a variety of commentaries and Bible aids. Hard study and personal insight is also part of the mix. Commentaries often provide unique insights into scripture, but must always be weighed carefully in light of the whole counsel of God. Any commentary ultimately provides an educated, and hopefully well researched, opinion of scripture.
Ken Palmer lives in middle Tennessee with his family. A graduate of David Lipscomb University, Ken works as a senior software engineer. He uses a large personal library of commentaries and study guides to prepare Bible lessons that he writes for LifeofChrist.com and for Bible class he regularly teaches.
